Azure Database Migration Services wizard not finding on-prem database

you're having trouble with the Azure Database Migration Services wizard not finding your on-premise SQL databases. Here are a few things you can check:

Connection Issues:

• Double-check that you’re correctly connected to your on-premises SQL Server in Azure Data Studio. You can do this by going to the Connections pane, right-clicking on your server, and choosing "Manage." Make sure the server is reachable and you can connect without any issues.

Authentication:

• Since you mentioned you've checked your credentials, ensure they have the necessary permissions to access the databases. The user needs at least read permissions on the databases you want to migrate.

Firewall and Network Settings:

• You've confirmed that port 1433 is open, which is great. However, also ensure that any necessary outbound ports for Azure services are open, and that the on-premise firewall allows connections from the Azure services.

Availability of Databases:

• Confirm that the databases you want to migrate are in online status and not in a restoring or offline state.

Database Migration Service Requirements:

• Ensure that you are using the latest version of the Database Migration Service as the classic version is deprecated. You might also want to check that the required resource provider (Microsoft.DataMigration) is registered in your Azure subscription.

Schema Migration Option:

• If no tables exist on the Azure SQL Database target or no tables are selected before starting the migration, the Next button in the wizard may not be available. Make sure to select the schema migration option to move forward.

If you've checked all these points and are still having issues, Could you please confirm the below

• Could you please provide any error messages displayed in the DMS wizard or Azure portal, as these can pinpoint specific issues, while the migration process
• SQL Server Version: Could you please let me know which version of SQL Server you are using on the on-premises server?
• Could there be any network security groups or local firewall rules that might be impacting the connection?
• Could you please share the connection string you are using to connect to the on-premises SQL Server?
• Have you set up the migration wizard with the correct server name and authentication details?
• Have you checked if TCP port 1433 is open not only on the SQL Server’s firewall but also on any network firewalls or security groups between the on-premises server and the Azure environment?
