How do I fix a synapse link that was updating partition tables but stopped on June 4th.

We're doing a proof of concept for a Dataverse to Synapse data link which was working fine until about June 4th. For some reason, since then, the partition folders of the tables have stopped updating. The "live" folder for tables is continuing to updated however, so the link still works in part. Is there a way to kickstart the partition folders again without recreating the link as we don't want to lose any of the data we've already collected?

Hi @Al Villeneuve It sounds like your Synapse Link is partially working the live folders are still updating, but partition folders haven’t been refreshed since June 4th.

Here are a few things to check:

Data activity: Partition folders only update when there's insert/update activity. If data hasn’t changed recently, this could explain it.

Link health: In the Power Platform Admin Center, review the Synapse Link status for any sync issues or pauses.

Storage logs: Check your ADLS folders (ChangeTracking or _delta_log) for any sync errors around June 4th.

Soft reset: Try disabling and re-enabling the link (don’t delete it)—this can refresh the sync without losing collected data.

Thank you for your quick response. Here are the results of your suggestions:

Data activity: I have confirmed there are changes to the data in question and it should be reflected in Synapse.

Link health: All tables sync status are Active.

Storage logs: I was unable to find any logs for our data lake. I found a logs and $logs folders but they were empty. Could you help guide me to where they should be?

Soft reset: I was unable to locate where to do this. The only option in the Power Platform Admin Center was to unlink tables and that's not what we want.

Here are a few next things you can try:

About the missing logs: The logs that help track partition sync typically live under the ChangeTracking or _delta_log folders inside your Synapse Link container in ADLS. These aren't always in the root—try navigating deeper into the dataverse folder path and into one of the affected tables (something like /dataverse/TableName/year=/month=/day=). If those folders are missing or empty, it could mean partition-based sync has quietly stalled.

Manually Refresh Metadata in Synapse: Sometimes, especially if files were written but not reflected, running a manual refresh in Synapse Studio can help:

REFRESH TABLE [schema].[tableName];

This doesn't re-trigger the link itself, but it can help get Synapse to recognize new data if it's been written to storage but not yet surfaced.

Soft Reset Alternative: Since Power Platform UI doesn’t expose a full restart, you could try this workaround:

Unlink just one of the affected tables (not the entire link).

Wait 10–15 minutes, then re-link the same table. This shouldn’t delete the existing data but can nudge the service to restart partition sync logic for that table.
