This message is intended to bring to Microsoft's attention the issues that many users, including myself, are reporting. This new version represents a significant downgrade from the previous one. Inability to rename folders, folders disappearing, etc. Please make it work again!

    Hi @Amela B

Thank you for reaching out. I understand how important it is for everything to run smoothly, and I’m here to help. Many users have shared similar concerns about folder management in the new Outlook, and while Microsoft continues to improve the new version, here are a few steps that might make things easier in the meantime.

Let’s go through some steps to get things working smoothly again:

    1. Switch Back to Classic Outlook (if needed)

If the new version isn’t working well for you, you can temporarily switch back to the classic Outlook without losing any emails or folders.

In the top-right corner of the new Outlook, look for the toggle labeled "New Outlook" or "Try the new Outlook

Click this toggle to switch it off. You might be asked for feedback; feel free to share your experience.

    2. Use the Outlook Web App (OWA)

As an alternative, signing in via the Outlook Web App can allow you to manage your folders (including renaming them) more reliably. This workaround can provide a smoother experience while Microsoft refines the new Outlook interface.

    3. Ensure Your Outlook is Up-to-Date

Microsoft frequently releases improvements and fixes, so making sure you have the latest version might resolve some issues, this could resolve some of the issues you’re experiencing.

    4. Restart Outlook & Check Folder Visibility

A quick restart can help refresh Outlook and ensure all folders appear correctly. Also, try expanding all folder views in case anything is collapsed.

    5. Repair the Outlook Application

If the issues persist despite the above steps, a repair can fix any underlying problems with the Outlook installation itself.

    Completely close Outlook

For Windows 11: Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps. For Windows 10: Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features

Find Outlook or Microsoft Office in the list, then click Modify or Change.

Start with the Quick Repair option. If that doesn’t help, try the Online Repair, which is more thorough (though it may take a bit longer).

We truly appreciate your patience and value your feedback. Microsoft welcomes your insights, and you can share your experience through here or through the Microsoft 365 Feedback Portal

I completely understand how disruptive these changes can be, and I hope these steps help restore your Outlook experience. If you need any further help, feel free to reply, I’m happy to assist further.
