How to unshare a directory by network path and reshare by ip address.

I have a client with two network shares. One is shared by IP address and I can see it happily over vpn connections from outside the computer in question.

The other is shared by network path it seems and I cannot work out how to re-share the directory so that I can access it via IP address rather than path.

If I look at the network shares, even on the same machine, it doesn't show up if I use \ipaddress_of _machine

How the hell do you do this?

Thanks.

Peter.

Why is it.. as soon as you ask the question you get the answer yourself.

My huge mistake. The share that was working was on the virtualisation host not the VM... if I use the correct IP address it just works!!

    Sorry for wasting everyone's time.
