Another month, more mass failures of Windows Updates

We are, for the 7th month in a row, faced with 90% failure rate on the months patches. The time and money we are spending on fixing these issues is making the transition to another OS enticing.

This month we have a new problem we did not have last month

In the Update Handler log we see:

Failed to download update (1423492c-fbbb-4652-a5ac-01cfe0e757b6) content. Error = 0x80096004. Releasing content request.

CAS failed to download update (8f9b7ab8-5a4d-426d-8371-122b27447a0e). Error = 0x80096004. Releasing content request.

In the WUAHandler log we see:

Installation job encountered some failures. Job Result = 0x80240022.

Update 1 (1423492c-fbbb-4652-a5ac-01cfe0e757b6) finished installing (0x800f081f), Reboot Required? No

Installation of updates completed.
