The show premiered on [[January 31]], [[1999]] and originally ended on [[February 14]], [[2002]]. After the overwhelming success of [[DVD]] sales and cable ratings on [[Adult Swim]], FOX decided to revive the program, and it began airing again on [[May 1]], [[2005]].
A [[Direct-to-video|direct to DVD]] movie, ''[[Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story]]'', was released on [[September 27]], [[2005]] (Region 1), [[October 1]], [[2005]] (Region 4) and [[October 24]], 2005 (Region 2).
