Line 33:
In late 1990s, a three-volume collection of fiction by notable contemporary Russian sci-fi authors, titled The Time of the Apprentices (Время учеников), was published with an endorsement of Boris Strugatsky. Each piece in the collection was a sequel to one of Strugatskys' books.
Not only book authors were inspired by Strugatsky's works -
First project based on a Strugatsky's novel ("Roadside Picnic") is a 3D-action game called "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl". It is a very loose interpretation of the origianl book, but the main concept of the Zone (a dangerours region where physics laws and rules are totally different from the normal world) and stalkers (people who stalk into the Zone to loot valuable artefacts) stayed virtually unchanged. The game is currently in development by GSC Game World.
