: "Java Platform" is not an "official proper name"; it's a random subset of the various "official proper names" that the platform currently goes by. It's no less contrived than "Java (Sun)". Both "Java (software)" and "Java (computing)" are ambiguous because of the existence of [[Java (programming language)]]. I'd settle for [[Java (software platform)]] as a compromise, but the other suggestions thus far are definitely inappropriate.
