May Day is an international call for help in audio radio communication. It is derived from the French term "M'aidez", meaning "help me". It is comparable to S.O.S. in International Morse code used at sea.

May Day also refers to Labour Day celebrated on May 1 in most countries, usually with demonstrations, especially in London in the United Kingdom.

Neo-pagans celebrate a modern version of this ancient Celtic holiday called Beltane, walpurgisnacht, or roodmas.

Traditional English May Day rites and celebrations (derived, in the main, from Beltane fertility ceremonies) include Morris dancing, crowning a May Queen, and dancing around a Maypole.

In Israel, this day was recognized with the socialist party and until recently was a holiday. yep.
