60 Seconds was a short news programme run between shows and during movies on the channel BBC3. It took only 60 seconds, during which time the presenter, from BBC3's seven 'o' clock newsteam, would attempt to condense the days news into a 60 chunk. The show also featured a clock in the corner of the screen which counted down the seconds.

The show was designed to appeal to people within the 18-34 age group; BBC3's target audience, and also the demographic with lowest news-watching and voter turnout. However, it was deemed unsucessful, and the prohibitive cost of maintaining a studio and production team who had to present for 8 hours a day to record 8 minutes of programming was deemed to high, and the show was ended.
