Band combination for chlorophyll-a algorithm
Hello,I am working on developing a chlorophyll-a algorithm using MODIS data for coastal water. Commonly, reflectance ratio are used in algorithm development where numerator is blue or red band and denominator is GREEN band. Will it be scientifically wrong if green band is used as numerator and red b...

OCI algorithm and OCx algorithm
Thank you for your reply.Yes I read that page. It says that bands closest to 443, 555 and 670nm are used. I found it little confusing as MODIS aqua does have 555 band but there is no band 671. However, 667 and 678 bands are available which are close to 670 (I downloaded .nc level 2 data from ocean c...

OCI algorithm and OCx algorithm
Hello,When I open MODIS ocean color level-2 data on seadas, there are two options for getting chlorophyll-a concentration. One is named as chlor_a that uses OCI algorithm another is chl_ocx that uses OC3 algorithm.I went through a document on ocean colour website (https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/atb...

Atmospheric correction for NIR-Red bands of MODIS
Thank you Sean for the reply. I understood that Rrs data for 748 band is not available. Could you kindly guide me about the following:1. What is raw data (Also source) that I will use to obtain Atmospherically correct Rrs data at 748 band.2. I want to derive chlorophyll-a concentration using R...

Atmospheric correction for NIR-Red bands of MODIS
Hello,I want to utilize NIR-Red bands of MODIS to develop chl-a retrieving algorithm. From the paper G. Dall’Olmo et al. / Remote Sensing of Environment 96 (2005), I came to know that there is no atmospheric correction method for NIR-Red bands of MODIS. What could be done to obtain atmospherically c...

Location points on seadas whose x-y coordinates are available
Hello,I want to locate points on seadas whose x-y coordinate is available in excel sheet. Those points are the station where in-situ measurement of chlorophyll-a concentration has been done. I want to open MODIS level-2 image showing chlorophyll-a concentration in a region and on top of that I want ...
