MODIS Aqua missing dates 2020
Hi, does anyone know why there is no MODIS Aqua data available for the period from 2020-08-17 unit 2020-09-02 (17th of August 2020 until 2nd September 2020). I am aware of the information on MODIS/Aqua Data Outages presented here https://modaps.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/services/production/outages_aqua...

Data order via Level 1&2 Browser - Earthdata Login failed redirection
Hi! I am having a problem with my Earthdata login. I am trying to download data from the NASA Ocean Color Website via the Level 1&2 Browser (https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi/browse.pl?sen=amod). But when it comes to logging in to submit the order, I am not redirected to the application. I am...

Particulate Organic Carbon level 2 file scale factor and offset value
Hi, Thanks for the answer! In R, I am using the ncvar_get function from the ncdf4 package. The R-documentation of this function (https://www.rdocumentation.org/packages/ncdf4/versions/1.17/topics/ncvar_get) under details states: "If the variable in the netCDF file has a scale and/or offset attr...

Particulate Organic Carbon level 2 file scale factor and offset value
Hi, I am processing the level 2 OC files with R and am wondering if the derived values for POC are correct. After opening the nc file, I extract the geophysical_data: poc and the navigation_data: longitude and latitude. I combine these in a data frame and then first, apply the scale factor, so the v...

Access to specific l2_flags in MODIS SST data
Hi colleagues, I have a question regarding the extraction of explicit flag information on a pixel level. I am working with MODIS SST level 2 files and would like to understand the meaning of the flag value which is hard to reconstruct from the coding system. I am aware of the information here https:...

Initial projection of MODIS L2_LAC.OC.x.nc files
Hi Sean, thank you very much for your answer! I am able to create output files with a resolution of ~2.2 km which is the result of multiple tests and variations I undertook to find the best way to generate the product I need. So, the SeaDAS l2bin and l3mapgen processors undertake interpolations and/...

Initial projection of MODIS L2_LAC.OC.x.nc files
Hi, I have a question regarding the original projection of level 2 ocean color data (L2_LAC_OC.x.nc files) for my further workflow. After the reprojection in SeaDAS to e.g. Geographic Lat/Lon (WGS 84) the spatial resolution becomes 1.2 km. I am working in R and therefore need to know the exact proje...
