Downloading SST monthly climatological only till 2017

Hello,

I'm new to ocean color and interested in using the available resource for my PhD. I'm currently looking at SST (day time) monthly climatological data. I've asked for a start date of Jul 2002 till Jul 2017. However, after downloading the files I realised that there are different start and end dates (majority ends after 2017) for each month.

I would like to better understand why this is so and if there is a way to only extract data from the requested dates?

Hello,

Much of the information is found on the tool if you click into the 'Help' button. The image compositing periods are described there.

The monthly climatology product is produced for the latest period available. If you want other periods, you can download the corresponding monthly files and composite them using a tool like SeaDAS.
