Re: Active fire Ultra Real Time Data
Hello,
The Real-Time (RT) and Ultra Real-Time (URT) data is available through:
Active fire detection footprint and centroid KMLs/KMZs
API - area
KML - fire footprints
WFS
WMS
Please see https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/usfs/active_fire/ for the URLS.
Please note URT are only available for data received from the following direct readout ground stations in the continental US: Madison, Wisconsin (2 antennas), Hampton, Virginia and Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. RT data are received from Honolulu, Hawaii and Monterey, California (after the pass is complete).
URT and RT data are removed when corresponding NRT detections are processed or RT/URT is older than 6 hours.
We have plans to add RT and URT data as part of the CSV, ShapeFile and KML/KMZ Active Fire downloads in the near future.
To learn more about Ultra Real-Time data please see the FIRMS blog post: https://wiki.earthdata.nasa.gov/display/FIRMS/2022/07/14/Wildfire+detection+in+the+US+and+Canada+within+a+minute+of+satellite+observation and earthdata article https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/learn/articles/firms-urt-data
