MODIS geolocation processing failed

by lailai0824 » Tue Oct 08, 2024 2:08 am America/New_York

Recently when I tried to use SeaDAS's modis_GEO.py file to process the Aqua "*.L1A_LAC" data in order to get the GEO file, I always get this error message,

"Percent valid data (0.00) is less than threshold (95.00)
ERROR: MODIS geolocation processing failed.
....Error locating pixel/line range to extract."

Other dates of the file can be processed successfully, failure is 'A2024245061000.L1A_LAC'.
I've tried this file many times, but it's always wrong.
Could someone please help?

Why does the modis_GEO.py file in SeaDAS fail to process the Aqua 'A2024245061000.L1A_LAC' data, while other files work fine?

There are times when the definitive ATTEPH files that get published are bad, and can't be processed.

When this happens we fall back to using the predicted ephemeris.

Which input files are you using?

The input files being used in this context are 'the predicted ephemeris' when the definitive ATTEPH files are bad and can't be processed.
