Hello everyone,
While trying to install SeaDAS, I stumbled on the fact that the tutorial for installing the OCSSW server on Windows (https://seadas.gsfc.nasa.gov/client_server/) is outdated. Specifically, the ppa:webupd8team/java repository has been discontinued since April 2019 (https://launchpad.net/~webupd8team/+archive/ubuntu/java) and should now be replaced (maybe with the default-jdk ?).
Additionally, with the recent updates to WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux), it is now possible to run GUI applications natively (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/tutorials/gui-apps).
Wouldn't it be more efficient to install SeaDAS directly on WSL, eliminating the need to install the OCSSW server separately ?
Best,
Julien

Hi Julien,
Thank you for your message and for your suggestion. We will test installing SeaDAS itself in WSL and its performance there, and update the instructions soon.
