AWS availability -- VIIRS products

by olivierpfrancois » Mon Mar 10, 2025 4:26 am America/New_York

Hi, I saw that NASA recently made a bunch of MODIS products available through AWS.
I was wondering if there is any plan to make VIIRS products also available through AWS in addition to regular existing channels.
I work extensively with the very good data from VJ113A1 and VNP13A1 products, but also am a user of other products from these satellites.
Thanks for any info,

Hello @olivierpfrancois all VIIRS Version 2 data from the LP DAAC are available in the cloud in AWS US-West-2. The cloud concept ID for VNP13A1 is C2519127224 and for VJ113A1 it is C2519122065. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks - Danielle

Thanks!

Trying to see if I can get the data faster from the cloud, there have been a lot of delays in posting updates in the last few months on ht e LAADS archive, with partial updates (missing tiles) complicating our workflow.

@olivierpfrancois We think accessing directly from the cloud should help but let us know if it doesn't.
