Multi-scale Ultra-high Resolution (MUR) Sea Surface Temperature

by qiuruiting » Thu Aug 07, 2025 11:54 pm America/New_York

Where can you learn the specific flow of the algorithm for the Multi-scale Ultra-high Resolution (MUR) Sea Surface Temperature product produced by Toshio Michael Chin's team? That is the multi-resolution Variational analysis (MRVA) algorithm. Is there any relevant code for reference about this algorithm?

Hi:

The best bet to understand the algorithm is to review the paper by Toshio Chin et al.

Chin, Toshio Michael, Jorge Vazquez-Cuervo, and Edward M. Armstrong. A multi-scale high-resolution analysis of global sea surface temperature. Remote sensing of environment 200 (2017): 154-169.

We are in the process of open sourcing the production code but give us a few months to do that.

I found this discussion topic very relevant because, i am more interested to know how algorithm for the Multi-scale Ultra-high Resolution can be generated and applied in real life situation pertaining to the work humanitarian and development professionals
