Remote Sensing for Climate-Sensitive Infectious Diseases
NASA’s Applied Remote Sensing Training Program (ARSET) is hosting a new online training series: Remote Sensing for Climate-Sensitive Infectious Diseases. We invite you to participate in this no cost training (more info below) and help us spread the word!
Climate-sensitive vector-borne diseases such as malaria impact millions of people each year, causing more than 700,000 deaths annually, according to the World Health Organization. Satellite remote sensing data can provide valuable insights for monitoring conditions which support disease vectors.
In this two-part training, participants will learn the basic principles of how satellite remote sensing data can be applied to track climate-sensitive vector-borne disease outbreaks and provide early warnings for potential outbreaks.
Course Dates: October 7 & 9, 2025
Time: 11:00 - 13:00 EDT [UTC-4]
Register Today: https://go.nasa.gov/457007Y
Note: Those who attend both parts and complete the required homework will receive a certificate of completion for the training.
