NASA's Global Flood product delivers near real-time (NRT) flood monitoring capabilities to disaster response teams, academic researchers, and industry for flood risk assessment. The product has been providing global flood maps at 250-meter resolution since 2012, with maps delivered within 3 hours of satellite observation through NASA's Land, Atmosphere Near real-time Capability for Earth observation (LANCE) (https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/projects/lance).
During this webinar, participants will be introduced to the NRT global flood products. The presenter will discuss the methodology used to create the product, review data discovery and access, provide examples of use cases and discuss plans for future developments. In addition, a demonstration for the Flood Location Observation and Overview Dashboard (FLOOD) web portal will be provided.
