Using hydrocron for PLD

I am trying to use Hydrocron API to get lake/reservoir dataset. I was going through the documentation and examples provided I understood that I can only access the lake data by unique lake_id but I have access only to reservoir id for the dams/reservoirs which are there in the Grand dataset. Is there any way I can access the dataset with the help of res_id instead of lake_id. Or is there a way to get lake_id based on res_id to query the API.
