NOMAD dynamic access and process API

by idura » Sat Sep 02, 2017 2:27 am America/New_York

Hello all,

I would like to validate spatial data with the NOMAD in situ data. Is it possible to access to it dynamically using an API or script?

On the other hand, is it possible to access to the NOMAD data using a method wich doesnt requires an internet conection?

Regards, Isaac

NOMAD dynamic access and process API

Issac,
We do not currently have an API for direct access to the archive.  However, NOMAD is distributed as a SeaBASS formatted text file, and so there is no need for a dynamic API... It can therefore be accessed offline
Now, NOMAD is intended for algorithm development, and is a subset of the full validation dataset available in SeaBASS (the validation dataset is itself a subset of the full archive).
The validation data can also be retrieved as SeaBASS formatted file  (satellite sensor specific).

BTW, we also provide a few software tools for manipulating the SeaBASS file format.

Sean
