A reviewer is asking me to give more information about the SST algorithm of the SST Level 2 NASA product (example: A2005004000500.L2_LAC_SST.nc). The same issue for the L2 Kd490 and also for L3 PAR data.
He/she consider that the same way I say something like ' NASA uses the band ratio Ocean Chlorophyll-4 (OC4) algorithm from SeaWiFS and MERIS, proposed by O´Reilly et al. (1998) and ratio and the OC3 variant algorithm from MODIS (NASA, 2010; O'Reilly et al., 2000)', I should also talk about which algorithm I choose for SST and Kd490 and why. I have checked in the ATBD and the metadata of the .nc files and it is not too clear to me.
Could you please help me to give a good answer to this?. I don´t see authors giving that information in their papers. To my point of view, authors generally focus and describe the Chl algorithm but not the other parameters.
Thank you very much,
Paula Salgado
