We were informed by the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office that the generation of the MERRA-2 data for September 2020 has an issue that impacts the science quality of the data. They recommend that the data NOT be used for science. However, those data were already used in the generation of the refined SST data products we produced. It is likely a small (if any) effect on the SST data, but out of an abundance of caution, we will be removing all refined SST products generated with a product start time greater than 2020-08-31 23:00:00 (basically all of September 2020).
The GMAO team is regenerating the affected MERRA-2 data. Once those reprocessed data are available, the refined SST products will be reprocessed. Until then we recommend you do not use any of the affected refined SST products you have downloaded.

An issue identifed with refined SST data for September 2020
The regenerated MERRA-2 data have been acquired and the affected refined SST products have been regenerated and are now available for download.
