seadas says : # # WARNING!!! file /Applications/seadas-7.5.1/images/viirs/V2018231182400.L1-BM-SNPP.nc is not a valid input mission: Mission=null
I removed the dash and nope either

same thing with L1A

yup viirs processor installed..

any more ideas?

I will try again after the upgrade of seadas, however where can I get the correct viirs NOAA files? so far I am using the ocean color.gsfc viirs files (NASA)

also I tried to update LUTs using the python script
However, an issue. see below. could it explain the issue using l2gen with viirs-NASA files?

one more question. In case I need to upgrade seadas, what will be the most practical/clean way? seadas installer?, git? etc Should I remove old version?

The SeaDAS 7.5.3 Announcement discusses what to do if you already have SeaDAS 7 (GUI) installed.  A future release might have different instructions, so what you should do is follow the advice provided each new release.  If you are concerned with updates to the OCSSW Processing Software, note that the OCSSW menu should change from "Install OC Processorsl" to "Upgrade ...".  You can also use the command-line install_ocssw.py to update the processing software and LUTs (see the OCSSW section in the SeaDAS GUI's Help menu).
