Thanks a lot! AppEEARS can download the areas chosen. Very nice!

Re: LP DAAC Planned Power Outage
Hi!
Are there any further updates on the Power Outage? I have been trying to download some MODIS data, but connecting has been hit-or-miss. It'd be helpful to know if the issue is on my end or with the server. Thanks!

Re: LP DAAC Planned Power Outage
We have been experiencing a large influx of user connections since we came up from downtime last week. We are aware of the issue and trying our best to resolve it.
Thank you for your patience.

Re: LP DAAC Planned Power Outage
Hello
I'm having a different problem while trying to download MOD09A1 product through Daac2Disk manager tool. Now it returns me Error code 401 "Unauthorized".
This is the output of the error that stops me to get the data: (attached screenshot). Any help whould be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: LP DAAC Planned Power Outage
I can't speak to how Daac2Disk is implemented, but I've been using the third snippet from the python recipes* for a while now, and after the system maint window, that style no longer works. I've switched to using code derived from the first recipe, and that works for MCD43 and VPN43, but fails with ssl handshake timeouts one ECOSTRESS.

Re: LP DAAC Planned Power Outage
Good Morning,
This past month (since July 15) with the server issues has been quite challenging, however tomorrow the plan is as follows: "EED will delivery a new version of Apache next week (this week now) which appears to handle some known bugs potentially causing our problems. Until then we'll be bouncing the Apache service hourly and cleaning up all hung CLOSE_WAIT sessions every 9 minutes in order to keep data moving as best we can."
"EED is working on getting this latest build in place. It is scheduled to be installed during PM the 17th if their testing goes as planned."
Not sure if this will if this will cure all that ails the system, but it may.
Thanks,
Brett

Re: LP DAAC Planned Power Outage
Thanks, Brett. Where'd you pick up this info? Sounds promising. I'm on the lpdaac mailman list, and have been monitoring the news page on lpdaac.usgs.gov. Maybe I just missed it.
Thanks again,
Ian
