Hi everyone,
I want raster data of Chlorophyll-a concentration from Landsat 8 data.
On The OCx algorithm(https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/atbd/chlor_a/#sec_2), instead of remote sensing reflectances (Rrs_blue and green), TOA planetary reflectance(of blue and green bands) can be used to calculate the concentration of chlorophyll-a?
Difinition of TOA planetary reflectance is here:
https://landsat.usgs.gov/using-usgs-landsat-8-product
Thanks for your help.

No, TOA reflectance cannot be substituted for Rrs in the OCx algorithm.
SeaDAS supports OLI on Landsat 8, but the current version cannot handle the format change made last April with "Collection 1".
The next release of SeaDAS will be able to process OLI Collection 1 files. We are actively working on it's release.
Stay tuned
