I downloaded some Aqua L2 OC files (days 092 to 121) that have pversion as a quicklook but look like they have been processed with delayed anc data.
$ ncdump -h A2018092143500.L2_LAC_OC.extNA.nc | grep pversion
        :pversion = "2018.0QL" ;
$ ncdump -h 2018/A2018092143500.L2_LAC_OC.extNA.nc | grep source
      :source = "A2018092143500.L1B_LAC,A2018092143500.GEO,N201809212_MET_NCEPR2_6h.hdf,N201809218_MET_NCEPR2_6h.hdf,N201809218_MET_NCEPR2_6h.hdf,N201809200_O3_AURAOMI_24h.hdf,N201809300_O3_AURAOMI_24h.hdf,N201809300_O3_AURAOMI_24h.hdf,anc_cor_file_28jan2014.nc,xcal_modisa_axc_oc_v1.10d,morel_fq.nc,polcor_modisa_2010b,aerosol_modisa,modisa_ocr_vc_nn,landmask_GMT15ARC.nc,watermask.dat,ETOPO1_ocssw.nc,ETOPO1_ocssw.nc,N2018092_SST_OIV2AV_24h.nc,N2018092_SST_OIV2AV_24h.nc,sss_climatology_woa2009.hdf,no2_climatology_v2013.hdf,alpha510_climatology.hdf,taua865_climatology.hdf,calcite_table.txt,owmc_lut.hdf" ;

QLP are preliminary quicklook with as available ancillary, extrapolated calibration
QL are with refined ancillary, but still with extrapolated calibration

The data are not reprocessed as refined until  the calibration has been "refined" on the approximately monthly schedule, but since it takes a week or so to generate the refined calibration for each month, it's more like 6-8 weeks before data will lose the QL designation.
