The DOIs for SNPP-VIIRS SST products appear to be missing on the following page:

https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/doi/

I tried some guesses but no luck. Do these pages exist?

We don't assign DOIs for SST products since the PO.DAAC is the official DAAC of record for this product. You can find thier DOIs here: https://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/datasetlist?ids=Platform:Sensor&values=SUOMI-NPP:VIIRS&view=list

We are considering whether there is a good way to reference their DOIs in our products for consistency.

Sorry, I need a little more help apparently. I don't see anything on the PO.DAAC that represents the SNPP/VIIRS SST products found here. You have DOIs for your Aqua and Terra SST (e.g.):

https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/data/10.5067/TERRA/MODIS/L3M/SST/2014/
https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/data/10.5067/AQUA/MODIS/L3M/SST/2014/

I am trying to provide consistent citations back to your products. What is the best url to use for your SNPP/VIIRS SST L3M product?

It was recommended that I associate the DOIs from the external source to our products. I will update the metadata fo the SST products and let you know when they are ready.

After some discussion about including external DOIs, we have decided against it for SST products because do not permanently store these products at our DAAC. Below is the only DOI the PO.DAAC currently has available for SNPP/VIIRS v2016.2 products:

"GHRSST Level 2P Global Sea Surface Skin Temperature from the Visible and Infrared Imager/Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on the Suomi-NPP satellite (GDS2)" doi: 10.5067/GHVRS-2PJ62
