Rrs vs rrs remote sensing reflectance

Hello,
I want to simulate it in the QAA algorithm to retrieve the aw and bbp from HICO L2 data along with in situ data, but I wonder that available in-situ data isn't different because this is rrs below surface remote sensing reflectance, but retrieval from this HICO L2 image that is above surface Rrs.
Can you confirm is it below surface remote sensing reflectance rrs? I want to compare Rrs retrieval from the HICO-L2 image in the below link, can I make a comparison between Rrs vs rrs? or should I inverted Rrs into rrs then get my comparison?

Thank you in advance for your support.
