Hi,

I downloaded Landsat8 data and calculated TOA radiance and TOA brightness using Band10 and Band11, converted it into degree- centigrade. so the output i got is land surface temperature (LST). How can I get sea surface temperature from Landsat8?

Please guide me.

Thanks

Majid

Hi Majid,
Even with LST you will have to account for water vapor effects in the thermal bands. Perhaps you are already doing that.

For SST have a look at this paper for ideas on how to derive that parameter: https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1755-1315/310/3/032067/meta

Hi @EarthdataForumContributor There is no Landsat SST product, as PO.DAAC staff have mentioned, you would need to calculate SST yourself. One paper you might be interested in reading is: https://www.mdpi.com/2072-4292/11/22/2687
