Hi LP DAAC team-

Usually, the HLS granules lag one to three days from the current date, but as of this posting, the most recent granules are from 2024-06-05:
https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search/granules?p=C2021957657-LPCLOUD&pg%5B0%5D%5Bv%5D=f&pg%5B0%5D%5Bgsk%5D=-start_date&tl=1710422347!3!!&lat=39.318392185539956&long=-104.99027770958257&zoom=4

Is this an expected delay in processing and do you have any estimates of when more recent data will be made available?
Thanks!
Matthew

Hi @matthew_cox_omnia Looking into this, there is an upstream data distribution delay related to https://lpdaac.usgs.gov/news/resolution-to-suomi-npp-viirs-data-product-geolocation-anomaly/ that is impacting HLS data production. We expect data to be available later this week once they are caught up. Thanks -- Danielle

Hi Danielle and/or LP DAAC team-

Do you have any updates on the upstream delay and when we expect it to be resolved? Do you anticipate that we'll be caught up all at once or that newer data will be available incrementally? As of this morning on June 17th, I'm still seeing that the most recent HLS data at https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search/granules?p=C2021957657-LPCLOUD&pg%5B0%5D%5Bv%5D=f&pg%5B0%5D%5Bgsk%5D=-start_date&tl=1710422347!3!!&lat=27.56229001520878&long=-144.9140625 is from 6/5.

Any updates or insight into progress would be appreciated!
Matthew

Hi Danielle-

Upon closer inspection, I believe most of the granules between 6/5 and 6/15 are missing. According to this search that covers much of the continental USA, there are only 20 granules between those dates, which doesn't seem correct. Do you agree? If so, do you have any ideas what's going on?

Hi Matthew, Apologies, right after I posted that message we heard additional information back from the PI. A bug was found and fixed yesterday, the L30 backlog for those dates will be completely processed within 2-3 days. Thanks -- Danielle
