How can I get a .tiff of a WMS satellite image

I followed this:
https://nasa-gibs.github.io/gibs-api-docs/python-usage/#bulk-downloading-of-gibs-imagery
But when I change image/png to image/tiff it does not work. I thought it would because the image/tiff does appear as an option in the XML. Is there another way to get a .tiff? I want one because I need the metadata associated with the image.
Thank you

We have identified the bug and will be implementing a fix for this soon.

Do you have a rough ETA on when the fix would be available?

The bug fix should go out tomorrow morning ET (Wednesday, 28 Aug)!

@joshuakdavis The fix should be in now. Please test to see if you are now able to get a TIFF from the GIBS WMS.
