Hello NASA EARTHDATA Forum Members,
I am a new member of this fantastic forum. I am seeking data related to climate in South America. I am particularly interested in studying how recent climate changes have impacted agricultural production, as I am planning to work on a project in this area. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hello,
I added several tags to your post, which I believe are relevant. NASA has a lot of data that can be used for climate-related research. Some of the tags are for specific data archives which may have data that you can use.
The archive I am associated with is the Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC). We have data products for precipitation, hydrology, and meteorology, and basic atmospheric parameters such as temperature and water vapor. Rather than try to describe all of these, I invite you to try out our Giovanni tool (
https://giovanni.gsfc.nasa.gov/). It has numerous data products that you can examine, and you can click on the data variable name to get more information. Giovanni allows you to plot maps averaged over time and time series for a large number of variables. Many of the data products are also available at higher spatial resolution, which requires additional work (and software) to analyze. We can further assist you as you explore the data offerings, and representatives from the other archive centers can also assist you with their data holdings.
I hope this will help you get started. Feel free to ask questions!

Hello,
It would help to know more specifics about what types of observations you are looking for. What kind of analysis you hope to do?
I am with the Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center (PO.DAAC),
https://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/ Our data products are focused on ocean parameters, such as sea surface height, temperature, salinity, winds, and currents. More recently, we also have SWOT products on terrestrial surface water (major lakes and rivers).
In general I can suggest the Global Mean Sea Level Trend dataset as a starting point for those interested in climate change:

I'm managing my project within a private repository, but I'd like to invite you to check it out and give me your thoughts or feedback.
If you have any suggestions or notice anything that could be improved, please feel free to contact me. I greatly appreciate any input that can help improve the project.
Thank you for your time and help!
