Missing Aqua LANCE Sept 18 - 1305 to 1525 overpass?

Hello,
I was wondering whether there was an outage on AQUA because there is a large chunk of time missing from AQUA on Lance from Sept 18 - from 1305 to 1525 (see figure). Part of this overpass covers the current wildfires in Portugal so I'm wondering where I can get them.
Thanks,
Conrad

Dear Conrad:
The reason for the gap is missing level 0 (L0) data from Aqua for that period. We may be able to recover all or some of these missing period during STD processing (but not NRT anymore) at:
https://ladsweb.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/archive/allData/61/MYD02QKM/2024/262

But for fire detection, you can also refer to the VIIRS fire from SNPP, NOAA-20 (J1) and the NOAA-21 (J2) platforms, all of which should also be available from FIRMS portal and LANCE. You need to use the corresponding V**14IMG products from MODAPS LANCE, for example:
https://nrt3.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/archive/allData/5200/VNP14IMG_NRT/2024/262/

Also, part of the gap is due to that period being night. MYD02QKM are only produced for day and both granules.

Hi,
thanks for letting me know of the missing L0 data. I'll try and keep an eye on the STD processing as you suggest.

Just wanted to clarify however, that the time is UTC and specifically the time between 14:20-14:30 is local afternoon (not night) for western Europe. So the gap in data is not fully in the night.

Have a great day,
Conrad

Yes, the gap from 2024-09-18 13:09:01 to 2024-09-18 14:46:20 is due to missing L0 data.
