Hello.
I want to know how it would be possible to access and download AVHRR data on-board NOAA satellites.
I could not find any working browser for these data.
would appreciate if any one can help.

Hi,
You can access AVHRR near-real-time data via NOAA's CLASS (Comprehensive Large Array-data Stewardship System) or EUMETSAT's data portals. Both require creating an account. Check NOAA CLASS for direct downloads or EUMETSAT for additional European coverage.

You can find all AVHRR products available from LAADS DAAC at:
https://ladsweb.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/missions-and-measurements/applications/ltdr/#output-products
Click on the Product name in the table to see information about that product and options to download data.

Thanks for your answers.
But NOAA satellites seem to be available only for GAC (~ 4km resolution) globally.
But what is the advantage of such data when we access Geostationary data of higher resolution and much better temporal frequency?
(I know that does not apply to MetOp.)

These data is part of the Long-Term Data Record (LTDR) project which is important for various studies. You can find information at:
https://ladsweb.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/missions-and-measurements/applications/ltdr/
Also, you don't need to use these products if you think these don't meet your needs.
