Unable to download data due to app log-in issue

Hello!

My attempts to download data have been unsuccessful despite trying multiple computers/browsers/etc. because the app states that I have to be logged in to download the data, which opens a new tab in my browser stating that I am logged in and will be directed back to the app, which then directs me back to a new tab. I saw that another user had this same issue (see viewtopic.php?t=6381).

I am attempting to download data from:

1. https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/catalog/sedac-ciesin-sedac-pmp-grdi-2010-2020-1.00

2. https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/catalog/sedac-ciesin-sedac-gpwv4-bdc-r11-4.11

Do you have insight on how I may be able to navigate this issue? Thank you for your guidance!

Apologies for the download problem. Have you tried to download again as it look like the download/login is working now.

Hello Lisa,

Thank you for your response! I deleted and redownloaded the Earthdata Download app on both my MacBook laptop and my Windows desktop just now and unfortunately both computers encounter the same error when I attempt to download the datasets. I will try again in a few hours. Do you have any recommendations on how I may be able to circumvent this issue by chance, other than trying again in a few hours?

Hello,

I want to follow-up if you are able to download the data?

Note that when you download, the data download page remains at the login screen as there is no page to redirect back to because you clicked on a file URL. But the file must have been downloaded. Please check your browser download folder.

Same issue I am facing, I am neither able to download this data from the prescribed link, nor able to access the data through QGIS Quick Map Services Platform. Its been more than 24 hours, trying again and again!

Sorry you are still having problems with the download. Please send SEDAC User Services a message (https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/centers/sedac-daac/contact) with the name of the file/s you need, and I'll try to get the files to you.

Same issue. I'm trying to dowload data from the MCD12Q1 product using the MODIStsp package in R, but I get an error message saying my username and/or password are not valid. In the meantime, I can log in to the earthdata website with the same credentials. I've submitted a help request!

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for following up about this! I still couldn't seem to download the data through the Earthdata Downloads app, but I managed to download the files via the zip file links on my browser's download page itself. These downloaded files seem to be what I was looking for! Thank you again!
