During the review of Version 2.0 of the Data Product Development Guide (DPDG) for Data Producers (https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/engage/data-producer-resources/data-product-development-guide-producers-v2) prior to its publication, Patrick Quinn had the following comment about Subsection 4.3 titled "Versions" of Section 4 titled "Metadata": "I find this section super confusing. Version fields are the same, except they're not sometimes, but maybe they shouldn't be different... talk to a DAAC."

The DPDG editing team believes it is necessary to mention product_version and VersionID in the document. The comment is not clear regarding what is meant by "version fields". Does it mean "version attributes"? Any necessary changes can be considered for the next version of the document.
