by OB SeaDAS - aynur » Wed Apr 30, 2025 5:12 pm America/New_York

Release Date: April 30, 2025

We are pleased to announce the release of SeaDAS 9.2.0.

Highlights of what’s new to SeaDAS 9.2.0:
  • OB_CLOUD Data Browser: Search, preview and download OB.DAAC satellite data in the NASA Earthdata cloud; mission-aware filtering, spatial/temporal constraints, day/night selection, thumbnails and pagination.
  • File/Sensor Support: Read SeaWiFS, OCTS, CZCS L1A (v3), HARP2 & SpexONE L2, PACE OCI L1B v3; image-flip and band-group controls in Preferences.
  • Science Processor GUIs (L2bin, L3bin, L3mapgen): Auto-populate mission/suite defaults; added fields and preference options; custom naming schemes; save/load favorite settings.
  • General Tools: Alpha-channel support for image exports; “Open File,” “Geometry Lines” and “Range Finder” toolbars visible by default; direct access to SeaDAS video tutorials via the SeaDAS menu.
  • SNAP Core: Built on modified SNAP development code (SNAP 10).
  • Mac Installers: Separate installers provided for Intel and Apple-Silicon (“M”-chip) Macs.
  • Intel-Mac Deprecation: SeaDAS 9.2.0 is the last release that supports Intel-based macOS.
  • Supports OCCSW release tag V2025.1.
Known Issues:
  • Manual GEO-filename entry required for some GUIs.
  • 2–3 s delay when auto-filling L2bin/L3mapgen forms.
  • Layer Editor may lag one click behind (re-click to update).
  • OB_CLOUD Data Browser may slow down if the image web service is busy.
