Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to ask about the current delay in the VIIRS surface reflectance products—specifically VNP09A1 and VJ109A1. I noticed that:

MOD09A1 and MYD09A1 are already updated through 2025-06-26,

VNP09A1 is missing the 2025-06-26 data (latest available: 2025-06-18),

VJ109A1 hasn't been updated since 2025-06-10 (missing 2025-06-18 and 2025-06-26).

I understand there are ongoing service migrations and internal changes, so some delay is expected. I'm just looking for a bit of clarification on when things might return to normal for these two products, or when we can expect the next updates.

VJ109A1 and VJ109H1 have indeed been updated, however VNP09A1 and VNP09H1 are yet missing the 2025-06-26 update.

I'm really sorry about the trouble, but I'm not being able to get the same results as you are. Just so we can have the same reference point, if you access this link:

(or if links are not allowed, just search for the product VNP09A1 version 002 in earthdata search website)

The latest granules available are from 2025-06-18 (with end date 2025-06-25). So, for me, it seems that I'm missing the granules from 2025-06-26 and now 2025-07-04. Perhaps I'm missing something?

For programmatically downloading these data I use the earthaccess python library, having the same missing granules as previously mentioned.

hi @savee I apologize, there was a miscommunication on our team. You are correct, the latest VNP09A1 data we have available is the June 18 - June 25 data. We are still waiting on the next set of data but we expect it in the next couple of days.

Hello @savee Those data should now be available, but we did want to make you aware of another VIIRS data gap. The issue has been resolved, and we expect to see more VIIRS data coming in but please read: https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/alerts-outages/delay-viirs-data-delivery
