Delay in HLS processing?

I am inquiring about an apparent delay in processing Harmonized Landsat-Sentinel (HLS) data.
In the past, imagery has been processed and uploaded within about 3-5 days of acquisition (sometimes less). However, the most recent imagery I see online is from July 14 (for tile TEF, I have not checked other tiles). I realize this is still fairly recent, but we have been relying on HLS for near-real-time monitoring applications and greatly benefitting from the <5 day latency!
Are there any current issues or delays related to processing HLS data and uploading it to LPDAAC? Any updates or news is appreciated.
Thank you,
-Sean

Hello @spkearney Thank you for writing in. HLS data are currently delayed due a VIIRS outage, as the data use VIIRS as input data. The VIIRS outage has been resolved but we are still waiting on the VIIRS data to process the HLS data. It should be available here shortly. We will be posting a news announcement with additional details.

Ok, thank you - I appreciate the update. I will keep an eye out for an announcement once processing has resumed.
In the future, is there somewhere else that HLS-related outage/delay announcements would be posted? Or is the EarthData Forum the best place for that? I didn't see any announcements about the VIIRS outage here or any mention of HLS in other announcements.
Thanks.

Hi
@spkearney The best two places to check are the Earthdata Forum, staff from the various DAACs regularly check here for new questions and can respond directly, and the new Data Alerts and Outages page:
https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/alerts-outages Once the LP DAAC is made aware of an issue and we have enough details; we will draft a news announcement and submit it to be posted there. You should see the VIIRS announcement there, once their team approves it, which in it we referenced that the VIIRS outage impacts HLS and Landsat Level-2 and Level-3 data as well. Typically, the LP DAAC will follow up on Forum Posts once the issue has been resolved as well.

Just noting the VIIRS post has been added:
https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/alerts-outages/delay-viirs-data-delivery we will also be adding it to the forum as its own post.
