Can ChatGPT Be Applied to Earth Data Interpretation at NASA?

Hi, I’m working on a research project related to Earth observation data and AI-assisted interpretation. I’d like to ask:

Does NASA currently explore or support the integration of large language models like ChatGPT (or other generative AI models) for automatic interpretation, querying, or summarizing Earth science datasets (e.g. satellite data, climate observations)?

I’m especially interested in potential use cases such as:

Natural language interface for querying metadata

AI-generated summaries of scientific data collections

Integration with DAACs or Earthdata Search

Accessibility tools for non-experts

Thank you in advance for any guidance or references!
