Earthdata Search Spatial Subset Sensitivity

by klmorgan » Tue Sep 23, 2025 2:34 pm America/New_York

Hi all, I have encountered a sensitivity in Earthdata Search when filtering ECOCO3_1.0 granules with a spatial shape. When capturing a small area of LA with a shape that I *know* is inside ECOCO3_1.0 spatial coverage, granules do not populate. But when I capture a much larger area of LA, the granules do populate. Is there a spatial sensitivity in Earthdata Search where there is a minimum area a user can draw? Image attached for reference. Thanks!

Hey, I’ve run into this before too. It seems like when the area you select is really small, some granules just don’t show up. If you make the area a bit bigger, more granules appear. Not sure why it happens exactly, but it’s worked for me in the past!
