SeaWiFS Mini-Reprocessing
Posted: Wed Jun 15, 2005 3:14 pm America/New_York
Good Afternoon,
As was mentioned not that long ago, based on the recommendations arising from the recent MODIS team meeting and Ocean Color Algorithm Workshop, a SeaWiFS and MODIS mini-reprocessing was going to take place. This message is to let you know that the SeaWiFS processing will be starting this afternoon, beginning with the level-2 data products (which you will notice are no longer available on the web browser) and then ending later this week with the level-3 products being reproduced. The changes that are being applied to this reprocessing include:
1- updated K490 algorithm
2- Thuillier-based Rrs
3- Updated Ozone ancillary data (TOMS V8)
4- Revised dimension of the 9 kilometer SMI Maps
These changes and analyses of the resulting changes are fully described at:
http://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov
Once the SeaWiFS data have been completed, we will do a similar reprocessing of the MODIS/AQUA dataset which will include the upgrade to the Collection 5 software and lookup tables but a more detailed announcement will be posted before we start.
Regards,
gene
