Nata in [[Ucraina]], all'età di 13 anni viene notata da una talent scout mentre era in vacanza a [[Mosca (Russia)|Mosca]] con la madre, intraprendendo a 17 anni una carriera da [[modella]] in [[Francia]]. Il festival ha avuto inizio come unico show nel [[1992]] a [[Sydney]], ma ben presto nel [[1993]] venne esteso a [[Melbourne]], [[Perth (Australia)|Perth]], e [[Adelaide (Australia)|Adelaide]]. Nel 1994, vennero aggiunti spettacoli a [[Auckland]] ([[Nuova Zelanda]]), e nel [[Queensland]], ([[Australia]]). Sebbene nel [[1997]] venne anunciato che quella sarebbe stata l'ultima edizione dell'evento musical, il festival ha ripreso attività dal 1999, saltando quindi esclusivamente il 1998 durante il quale, comunque, i principali promotori [[Vivian Lees]] e [[Ken West]] organizzarono un festival prevalentemente [[musica elettronica|elettronico]] e dance.

La passerella è l'occasione per farsi notare nel mondo dello spettacolo, così negli [[Anni 2000|anni duemila]] dà una svolta alla sua vita intraprendendo la vita d'[[attrice]]. L'esordio assoluto avviene nel [[2001]], in un episodio della [[serie televisiva]] ''[[Largo Winch (serie televisiva)|Largo Winch]]''. [[2005|Quattro anni dopo]], il debutto [[cinema]]tografico nella pellicola francese ''L'Annulaire'' le fa vincere subito un premio al Brooklyn International Film Festival. Nel [[2006]] recita con [[Elijah Wood]] in un episodio del film collettivo ''[[Paris, je t'aime]]''. L'[[2007|anno successivo]] sbarca nel mondo delle grandi produzioni americane, grazie ad un ruolo nel blockbuster ''[[Hitman - L'assassino]]''.

Il festival vede una massiccia presenza di band e musicisti australiani e neozelandesi in gran maggioranza sconosciuti al pubblico europeo (con eccezioni di rilievo come i [[Jet (gruppo musicale)|Jet]]. Tuttavia si può rilevare ogni anno la presenza di almeno cinque-sei band di fama mondiale. Anche per questo, Il ''BDO'' è considerato uno dei festivalpiù apprezzati del mondo.

Ad inizio [[2008]] la [[EON Productions]] annuncia il suo ingresso nel mondo delle ''[[Bond girl]]'', col personaggio di [[Camille Montes]] nel ventiduesimo film della saga, ''[[Quantum of Solace]]''. La notorietà derivante le permette, all'inizio del [[Anni 2010|nuovo decennio]], di fare rapidamente strada sul grande schermo.
