Dopo aver recitato in altre serie televisive, come ''Doctors'', ''Peak Practice'' e ''Sweet Medicine'' e nel film ''One for the Road'' ed ''Heartland'', ha recitato in ''[[Born and Bred]]'' e in un documentario della [[BBC]] riguardo ilal contadino del [[Norfolk]] Tony Martin.

Dempsie è stato educato nella ''West Bridgford School'' a [[Nottingham]] ed ha studiato recitazione alla [[Central Junior Television Workshop]].
