PoorCascina farmModesta is located on the eastern border of Brugherio, not far from the farmCascina Sant'Ambrogio. It dateswas backbuilt toin the nineteenth century and took its name derives from that of the first owner, Brenna Poormodesta widow Vismara [1],<ref name="luoghi" /> although some say the adjective should instead be referred to the original architectural structure of rural, virtuous or to the character of its inhabitants;<ref name="sitocomune" /> so ''modesta'' should refear to the poor condition of the inhabitants. It is also called the''Del forestBosco'' because it is located on the edge of the only large wooded area of Brugherio, known as the "''Boscone"'' and formerly known for its abundance of game.<ref name="mongolfiera" /> It is the only farm brugheresewhere there are still fully agricultural land andlands which are all growncoltivated.<ref name="mancini" />[[File:Cascina Modesta Brugherio (MB).JPG|thumb|Cascina Modesta]]
Cascina Modesta è situata al confine orientale di [[Brugherio]], non lontano da [[cascina Sant'Ambrogio]].
Risale al [[XIX secolo]] e il suo nome deriverebbe da quello della prima proprietaria, Brenna Modesta vedova Vismara<ref name=luoghi/>, anche se secondo alcuni l'aggettivo andrebbe invece riferito alla sobrietà architettonica della struttura rurale, oppure all'indole virtuosa dei suoi abitanti.<ref name=sitocomune/>
È chiamata anche ''del bosco'' perché situata ai margini dell'unica grande zona boscosa di [[Brugherio]], conosciuta come "il Boscone" e nota anticamente per l'abbondanza di selvaggina.<ref name=mongolfiera/>
È l'unica cascina brugherese ancora completamente agricola e i cui terreni sono tutti coltivati.<ref name=mancini/>
