FIFA's awarding of rights to Fox has been criticized for its lack of tender process, having been done in order to placate Fox regarding the move of the 2022 World Cup (which it has the rights to) from summer in the United States to late fall, during the first few weeks of the [[National Football League]] regular season. Due to the lack of a tender, FIFA lost revenue.
