Hello,

I am unable to create / launch single node cluster in Azure databricks. I believe in free trial subscription one can try out databricks by creating a single node (4 vCPU core).

I have even tried out creating the databricks service in East US, Southeast Asia,West India, South India, Central India region however got similar issue of cluster not spinning up with error: Cluster terminated.Reason:Azure Quota Exceeded Exception

    Hello @Arnab_Azure_Learner ,

Welcome to the MS Q&A platform.

As per the repro from our end, we are able to create a single node cluster with Standard_DS3_v2 VM using Azure Free trial subscription.

Before you create any clusters in your subscription, you need to check the usage of the cores available in the region.

To find total cores available for a region:

Azure Portal: All services => Subscriptions => Select your subscription => Usage + Quotas

Hope this will help. Please let us know if any further queries.

@Arnab_Azure_Learner Sorry, I am new to Azure and I have created a project for my learning wherein my subscription and all of my resources including Azure Databricks were hosted in westindia. I am facing the similar issue wherein my basic 4 core node is not available in this region.

I checked cloud shell using az vm list-skus command as to where the resources could be available but I could not find any region. Besides, even if I come to find an available node in a region, I would not know how to change it.

Could you please mention how you did it?
