Figlia di un [[direttore d'orchestra]], divenne universalmente conosciuta per il singolo ''Mickey'', cover della canzone ''Kitty'' del [[1979]] della band inglese dei [[Racey]].

La canzone era già stata registrata da Basil nel 1979 ma fu pubblicata solo nel [[1982]] vincendo l'iniziale riluttanza dell'artista americana la quale credeva che la [[Canzone (musica)|canzone]] fosse già “musicalmente datata”.

La '''stagione 2010 della GP2 Series''' sarà la sesta del campionato motoristico [[GP2 Series]]. Questa sarà la prima stagione in cui vi sarà, di supporto alla serie principale, la neonata [[GP3 Series|GP3]]. La stagione della GP3 accompagnerà gli appuntamenti europei della GP2.

Il [[video musicale]] di questa canzone fu uno dei più popolari video trasmessi da [[MTV]]. Tale video, di per sé molto semplice, consiste in un balletto della band di Toni Basil del quale lei è la protagonista vestita da ragazza pon pon.

===Scuderie===

La stagione avrebbe dovuto vedere al via 26 vetture ma a seguito dell'uscita del ''team'' [[Durango (automobilismo)|Durango]] le vetture in gara saranno solo 24. Non è stata effettuata nessuna procedura per l'individuazione di un nuovo ''team'' in quanto tale procedura è già prevista per il campionato 2011.
